How many decades will the USA need to restore their reputation after Bush?

I mean, Germany needed several decades to become a respected country after WW2 again. Will the US need rather 20 or rather 40 years to restore its global integrity ?

We have a major economic circumstance to deal with... long before we can even be concerned with any 'reputation' issue.

I do believe, however, that a vast majority of the world population realizes at this point, that these past years of the Bush Administration have not been the general concensus of the population at large within this country

There are those, however, that will hate us no matter what because we are considerably more affluent than a great percentage of the world and have far more power within our control.

But, to have the country 'represented' by such total arrogance.... is, within itself certain death to any true cooperation from others and a distinct negative in the way the world feels about us generally..... hopefully the residue of this pathetic little charade will quickly pass and we can get down to being a leader by credibility as opposed to the "strong arm" garbage.....

I think we can recover our dignity and the world's respect with our new administration, but it surely will take time. As for our debts, it might take several generations to pay those off. Bush and his buddies have done a lot of damage and, according to today's news, is doing a lot more as he cleans off his desk. We should be happy to see these self-serving, greedy, insensitive people leave. I even have a going-away-party idea in mind, but it might be a little sticky!

there is only one way to gain the world respect

withdraw all US Soldiers around the world

and free the world market from the America greed presence

that is never going to happen so forget about it

Actually; the human species has a very short memory, most times.

If our nation keeps it's 'nose clean' we might earn forgiveness in only 2 decades. :)

I believe it will take at least a century for USA to restore their reputation because at the moment we have bigger problems to deal with like Global Warming and USA is one of the leading carbon emitting country.

I didn't realize that Bush committed war crimes like Hitler, or for that matter Hussein or Castro!

The hatred, if you didn't notice, is turning into desperation for a real president like him again.

Obama won't do America any favors like keep us safe after an attack like 9/11.

People hated Americans way before Bush. He just kind of signified the stereotypes. As long as you're a super-power people will hate you, but the U.S is falling fast so who knows?

Exsqueeze me? Germany invaded other EU countries, executed millions of jews, Poles, Gypsies, and other eethnic groups. I tell you we spend all this money on education and end up with this dullard group think?
