Prefect Application Letter?

In my prefect application letter i have to the answer the question of "what will you do to support the prefect team?".

All I can think to answer that question is, "If I was to be granted a place as a prefect I would, as I do with any task, perform my duties to the best of my abilities helping out members of the college and at college events." which is quite clearly not enough.

eh. Say stuff about HOW you intend to help members of the college. Elaborate on that. Also say what role you think you could play within the prefect team, and how your personal strengths could be of use.

Dear Mrs/Mr[Insert Name]; I am writing this letter as I am keen to become a prefect and I wish to help the school as a community and support the school in becoming a better place for all of us. I am reliable and hard working; I can handle strenuous tasks with ease nonetheless pursue them to the best of my ability. A prefect is a significant priviledge and I will be more than obliged if you choose me to become a prefect. Alongside being a prefect, comes great responsibilty which I am fully prepared to take on if you give me the chance. I care about this school and I wish to support you in making it beneficial and influential for all of us. If I will become a prefect I would : 1. Maintain discipline. Prefects have advantages over teachers in that the younger children look up to them, as a result keeping the rules is a much easier job for Prefects than it is for teachers. 2. Help staff. Prefect is one of the top roles a student can have at a school. You are now working with the teachers to create a better place to learn, and a mature, helpful prefect is sure to be trusted. 3. Support younger pupils. The knowledge that there are Prefects willing to help will be very reassuring to newer pupils, and they will count on you to live up to their expectations as someone that can help them. 4. Be approachable. The kind and friendly prefect will gain the most respect. Offering help to those that might need it is better than waiting to be asked, and more often than not your offers will be taken up appreciatively. 5. Be involved. Prefects are given a lot of responsibility in the form of organizing and running events for parents and pupils of the school. It raises your prefect profile and impresses teaching staff, and also puts you in good stead for the future. Colleges and employers are keen to see examples of people that have been involved in voluntary school activities. 6. Be involved.
