Is it possible that drinking the same amount of alcohol you normally do can cause you to act schizophrenic?

My husband was out the other night for his birthday at a local club. He was drinking Vodka and Red Bulls. He and his friends were leaving their drinks on a table and dancing then coming back and picking up whatever glass was nearby as they were all drinking the same thing. When the club closed my husband got somewhat verbally aggressive towards door security. They took him to the floor and called the police on him. When the police asked him to, he got up and walked into the cop car with out a fuss. When I went to pick him up at the police station he was extremely disoriented, covered in bruises and blood and apologizing to everyone around him. As soon as we got out the door he started crying and telling me that he was beat up. He described in detail everything that happened to him in the cell, how they hit and kicked him. When I got him into our apartment he started getting very frustrated that he was beat up. Then he would switch back to confusion and crying. A sudden change would come over him and he would try to get out of the apartment to get back at them for hitting him. Then his eyes would roll back in his head, he would faint and go back to being the quiet, more normal person. The switches happened for about 4.5 hours until he finally started to slowly come around. He drank loads of water through all of this and he continues to down water like he hasnt had any in days. He has had no hang over and continues to have no appetitie 2 days later and still doesnt fell right. He also only appeared to have vomited once in the police station as well as some white milky stuff on the way home. He does not remember anything from half an hour before the club closed and the time he came around. Anyone have any thoughts on what this could be? I am 100% certain that he was drugged because he has NEVER acted like this before in any way.

Update:

Could it have been a ketamine spike?

Schizophrenic? No. There is a condition called 'drug induced psychosis'. He should be evaluated my a medical professional. His symptoms could continue for some time. It's not something to take lightly. Best wishes.
