Being a military veteran will help you get jobs in law enforcement and fire departments. You will than become a protected class much the same as if you were a woman or african american. This will improve your chances greatly.

Most military bases have a civilian supported fire department. However all US Navy ships have to fight their own fires at sea. The rate that will provide you with the best training for fighting fires is the HT rating

Seems to me that you are wanting to join the Army for all the wrong reasons, in which case we don't need you! Come back when you grow up and get your priorities straight!
