How can I do this in photoshop?

I have been a fan of this photographer for a while and have played around with Photoshop, but can not get the same results with my pictures. I know they use a image overlay, but was curious as to how to get the color and noise that way without loosing the clarity?

Any ideas?

wow. looks awesome, and i think the person used alot of filters.

here are some links to photoshop tutorial sites, and they have easy, step by step instructions of how to do something like that.

    Do WHAT in Photoshop?

I guess you forgot to link to the photo!

Edited after you added the link:

As the photographer said in the comments, he added an overlay.

Trying out something like that is very easy. Go take a photo - say a tower like in the example. Take another photo, this time just of an interesting texture (dirt, gravel, a brick wall, moss, grass, tree bark, whatever).

Now put the texture on a layer above the photo, then play with the opacity until you're happy. If necessary, mask off parts of the texture where it isn't appropriate.
