Since God is an English man and Rugby is the official sport of Heaven, why did he create cricket?

We were brought up in Sunday School to believe that God is an English gentleman and that we must play rugby in heaven. So why did God bother to create cricket? Was it just to give the colonials and wogs something to do?

Couldn't he just let them play darts against the Roman Catholics?

This one is for all you religious bible pushers to answer, since they weren't answered in Sunday School.

Update:

edit: My horse drowned when I went to play Polo :-(, but that'll be another question old chap.

Update 2:

Edit: Oh dear lord it can only be Union. You'd get kicked in the goolies playing League! That would cause an unholy ruckas in heaven. Imagine grown men holding their gonads and screaming in pain like women. That would be a bad show before the Ladies and the Staff. My man servant would probably burst out laughing and still the tankard of Rum.

Yes, cricket was designed as a foretaste of hell.

Purgatory is watching cricket and trying to figure out the rules. In between the tears of boredom.

I think your premise is false since rugby is a sport where gay men pretend to be manly. Therefore it would not be allowed in heaven. Chuck Heston played Moses, George Burns played God in the movies. Therefore God will let all who believe on the name of Jesus enter the kingdom of heaven. Also, I was kind of hoping that Baseball would be the official sport of heaven.

WHAT! You was too lazy, when you was young, to read the Bible yourself and with your, evident, low concentration levels decreasing your ability to perceive and understand even the most simplest of enlightenment concepts and Spirituality, Sunday School or any other type of religious study would have been a complete and utter, waste of time, for you, also.

As far as I can tell, soccer is the official sport of heaven. I don't think god created cricket, it's just there in case watching paint dry gets too boring.

Cricket is the punishment for those who go to hell.
