Does Anyone Here Know The Best Company To Go Through To Publish A Poetry Book?
I have been writing poetry from more than ten years now, and I am more than ready to publish a book. One company that wants me to do so, only wants to type up the book, and for me to sell it myself. I want the book to be sold widely and in different languages so that people of all walks and languages can read them. I don't want to be scammed either, so has anybody here published a book or knew a friend / family member that has done so that can help your girl out? I'd really appreciate it.

You say you've been writing poems for 10 years. Have you published any of them? No legitimate publisher is going to be interested in bringing out a book of your work until you've established a reputation by publishing lots of individual poems in various journals. To find information about print and online magazines that publish poetry, you can look in the book "Poet's Market" (your local library might have a copy), and you can check out the listings at this website:

Sorry. There is just, practically NO market for books of poetry. There is no "company" to go to to get your book published. Virtually all real publishers work through agents to obtain material for publication. If you look back at the history of poets, you will find that they sold individual poems to other venues, long before a book-compilation of their poems appeared. If you really think your poems are good (hopefully you have won contests with examples of your work) you might want to see if your skills might lend themselves to creating content for greeting cards. Those companies (including some popular websites) are merely printing houses who will print ANYTHING you want, as long as you pay the fees.

Try not to be so ambitious. First you should try to sell an excellent number of copies to even consider the book being so world-renowned that everyone would want to read it. Chances are you aren't that good if you can't find a company who won't pounce right on your book.
Source(s): Don't get your hopes up. Make sure YOU can actually sell copies WELL by YOURSELF before you hand the task to someone who will actually cost you BIG MONEY. - ?Lv 45 years ago
$a million, seven hundred seems somewhat extreme for proofreading. whilst the different centers they are offering (ie: conceal layout, merchandising and marketing and online merchandising) alongside with the mandatory fee to print the e book are many times used of a shallowness press. extremely, you would be paying to get your e book revealed. i does no longer advise utilizing a shallowness press till you have exhausted another highway.
