Mental illness article discriminates against asd etc can our replies make a differnce, should we allow con,t..?

This article is outrageous. I went through a mental illness a few years ago. It is nothing you can control unless you get help from a therapist. It is saddening to hear people will blame the people with these uncontrollable illnesses. Some can be cured of it (like me) while others will live with it forever. How would you feel if you had a mental illness out of your control. Lets say you are afraid of everything. You cry yourself to sleep. You scream and lose your voice everyday. Your constantly shaking and crying. You mind is going wild. You don't know why. Well, this is what I had to deal with everyday. I was so afraid of things that most "normal" people aren't. It came on suddenly, and lasted for months and months and months. It interfered with the way I lived. People didn't look at me the same. I had no way of controlling it. To read this article angers me. I went through hell. I hated my life then. To hear that people aren't okay with mental illness strongly upsets me. After I went through what I went through, I started to realize that these people should be accepted. It's not their fault they have it. It's something out of their control.

I agree that the article was poorly written, but in this country we have freedom of speech. She is entitled to say what she thinks. Offensive it is, but illegal it is not.

I have bipolar disorder and have chosen not to have children because of that. It is a personal choice.
