what does this mean? I don't want to get excited if it doesn't mean anything!?

OK. So two weeks ago today, I had a blood test. I wasn't late yet. My beta was 98. That next Monday, May 11. I had my beta done again. It was 397. I was taken yesterday May 21 and it was 13,036.4 Which is really high. Im only 5 weeks along... Does this mean I have a good chance that I got twins??

I was pregnant with Twins in my last pregnancy, but one Vanished. So I would really like it if it was twins.

Update:

I go for an ultrasound June 3rd

It's very possible. Your numbers are pretty high for only being 5 weeks along. A few different factors could explain why your numbers would be so high..

    * multiple pregnancy

*molar pregnancy (where the embryo attaches outside of the uterus)

*further along then u may think

Since u have been pregnant with twins before and your numbers are this high u could have a very good chance of carrying twins this time around also. However, if in fact u ovulated a bit earlier or your dates are off by only 1 week and u are in fact 6 weeks since lmp then your numbers could be on the normal average line.Generally if your pregnant with twins your pregnancy symptoms could be much more pronounced. hen I was pregnant with twins my morning sickness, fatigue, hunger and breast soreness was extreme! Thats how I know I was starting to miscarry because my symptoms just dissapeared one day...

here is a guidline of hcg levels in pregnancy:

    3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml

    4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml

    5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml <-----------------------

    6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml <-------------------------

    7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml

    9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml

    13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml

    17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml

    25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml

    Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml

    Postmenopausal females: <9.5 mIU/ml

if u notice at 5 weeks since your last mp your numbers could be as high 7,000 and at 6 weeks they could be as high as 56,000, so if u were 5 1/2 weeks they could be in between those 2 numbers...The only way u will be able to exactly know for sure is by your ultrasound on june 3rd. So, good luck, congrats and hope u get the twins u want and that they are sticky beans =o)
