What Americans know about Germany, they learned from Hollywood. Americans, also, bookend all things philosophical, all things religious, all things political and all things internet with Hitler as the measure for both extremes -- e.g. Bush is the same as Hitler, or is America becoming the new Nazi Nation? No, America, Hitler wasn't even a German.

On balance, the wiki ariticle is a concise, bird's eye view. I mean, you are covering 3,000 years there. So, yeah, if somebody learns a little about Germany from the article, it is good.

Unlike th US Germany sticks to the nationality of the mom and dad. You are certainly German. US legislation does no longer observe in Germany. Your pal is as mistaken as she can also be. >Or am I American, due to the fact I was once born within the US zone of Germany after the warfare? Ask her that.
