Question for a Professional Dog Trainer...?
I have a 9 year old lab, i rescued him when he was 6 weeks old from a shelter, he was brought into my family with 2 other dogs, 2 years ago i had to put one down and then last year i had to put the other one down, about a week after that i started noticing seperation anxiety, so i nipped that in the butt, and i travel for work and i'm gone 2-3 days a week, i have a dog walker come over that has been my dog walker for 11 years so he has known her his whole life, and she stays with him one of the nights i'm gone, so anyway the problem is about a month ago he started scratching my coach's apart, and i don't know where this is coming from cause he never even chewed when he was a baby, if you have any suggestions that would be great, and no jerks please! Thanks to everyone that can give some great advice :)

Some dogs don't do well being left alone, and a dog walker may not be enough company, especially for a dog who has been used to other dogs company and has experienced separation anxiety. The couch chewing may reflect SA, and may also have a component of canine cognitive dysfunction (doggy alzheimers), both can be helped by meds, and I encourage you to see a vet behaviorist, or at least your regular vet, and UPenn will do free consults to vets who call needing medication advice.

Well I would ask your question on Leerburg.com and see what they say. My guess is that the seperation anxiety is still on going.....
