Will this go on your permanent record?

My friend touched some old people's fake snowman in the middle of the Summer, and the people that lived there called the cops. They thought she was going to steal it. The cop was really cool about it, because he told her all he needs is her name, but he told the old people he was going to take her to jail.

Why did he need her name? She's only 14, and is scared it will go on her permanent record. Her parents didn't even have to be told. She was with a few friends and they had to tell them their names also.

I thought you only get stuff on your record if you go to the station.

Since she's a juvenile, even if she were arrested her records would be sealed when she hit a certain age (depending on state either 18or 21), so there really isn't a permanent record. (Unless you are tried as an adult)

She was not arrested, not cited, no prints were taken - she has no record, period.

Source(s): *sigh* Yes, I have a(n adult) record.

No permanent record addition there. Probably just asked names to have more impact with the kids. Not to worry.
