    Which Mac?

iMovie is bundled with OSX - going back to OS10.1... even OS 9.2. It should be on the OSX restore discs and you should be able to install is from there. So you don't have to buy it - if you are a legal owner of the OS and have the discs.

And you did not tell us which Mac... for all we know, you are using a MacBook made between October 2008 and June 2009 - or any MacBook Air... they have not firewire port and no way to add one.
