creating a "french boudoir" themed bedroom? [teen]?
My current room is pink and green. Not neon, soft colors. Not 1 wall green, 3 pink..
every wall is pink. you know where a border would go? at the top? right, okay. thats where green is. but it's cutoff with trim, between the border and the rest of the walls. like this:
_______________________________
_______________________________ <-- border. line below this is trim
<--wall

okay, i cant change paint. or main furniture. It's all antique white colored.

You need to work in some dark chocolate brown or black accents along with the pale pink.
Art like this would be a good start:

Here is a vinyl wall decal of the Eiffel Tower (these decals are removable and will not harm your paint):

Or, if you are crafty, you could paint the tower on a canvas and use it as wall art.
This bedding set is pricey, but it gives you a good idea of the type of fabrics and prints to choose (solid black bedspread, pink and black animal print pillows, Paris-themed pillow shams and bedskirt):

DIY project ideas:
-- stencil French phrases onto your wall or onto solid curtains ("Ooh la la," "Bonjour!," "Je t'aime," etc)
-- group lace fans, faux pearls, and high-heel shoes (thrift store!) on your walls or dresser for a boudoir effect
-- use wrought-iron look curtain rods or spray paint the ones you have black

Have you thought about doing a mural(dragons, fallen angels etc)? Using stencils for gothic designs on the wall? Or how about designing your room to look gothic and old fashioned? Get some idea's from gothic retailers and try and copy their idea's yourself. Dark purples and reds spring to mind when thinking about colours. And remember the accessories and small touches here and there can really make a room. Perhaps you could try distressing the lino with a varnish to make it look like old uncared for floorboards. Or use a rug. What about staining your window (or buying a piece of glass and stain that) you can buy glass stains in hobby shops which should come off if you don't bake it. Have a look in charity shops for bits and pieces to play with. Ebay is a good source of cheap room accessoried (and skulls, or simply look around when on walks in the country...) Finally remember when its finished the more you've done yourself the more unique and awesome it will be.
