Maybe this is a Republican who leans towards Libertarian principles, except on the subject of abortion.

Most people do not adhere to their party's views 100% of the time. So a person can be a Libertarian and still be "pro-life." But if someone is against abortion rights, against gay marriage, and for prayer in schools, then that person is not really a Libertarian. He might call himself an Independent, but not a Libertarian.

Many of the people who are sick of the way the Republican party is abandoning them and as a result, are calling themselves Libertarians. I think this is because the current hot-button issues are fiscal and they agree with the Libertarians on fiscal issues.

I am moderate on abortion. I think the way it is now is roughly OK. I don't want late term abortions to be routinely done for non-medical reasons, but I think early term abortions should be between a woman and her doctor.

I think gay marriage is a states rights issue, but if the vote came to my state, I would vote FOR gay marriage.

And I think if the Christians don't want a Muslim teacher leading their kids in prayer, then we shouldn't have Christian teachers leading prayers. But the kids have a right to pray how ever they choose as long as they aren't disrupting the class.

And I am very fiscally conservative.

  • A person who thinks Jesus used to hunt Dinosaurs and wonders where the sun goes at night. In short: Sarah Palin.

But I'm with Red Com... a lot of Republicans call themselves "Independent" or "Libertarian" because its too embarrassing to admit youa re a Repuplitard these days.
