I have to answer the question, Where has God played a significant role in your life?

I don't know how to answer this question because i don't believe in God. How do I answer this truthfully without sounding like an asshole.

Update:

I have to answer this for a leadership application in my school. I want to get accepted cause it would be a great opportunity and look good for resumes or universities. its a catholic school, which sucks but still. I cant say anything that would make them think im an asshole, cause i already think i probably wont get selected just cause im not religious.

It would be best to admit that you just plain do not know. Even some of the prophets, when asked a question , would answer with something like this " well, You know Lord"....they were never upbraided or corrected, or reprimanded for simply admitting the truth.

If you move from "I don't know" to the statement..."Show me if you are real, LORD."

Then ...look out. That is a prayer that gets some interesting answers sometimes. Someone named Richard Wurmbrand learned to know God in an underground cell, where he was kept in solitary confinement for almost fourteen years. He forgot the Bible; he forgot his theology...but He experienced the reality of a living God....Hope you do not need to go through any thing like that.

The most interesting description of God I know of is the Hindu one (that more or less is as follows): God created the Cosmos from himself, so God IS the cosmos and also its creator.

Therefore if u liked this idea and tried to ask your question following this definition u could start as: God plays a significant role in my life cose is the air that allows me to be alive, also the food I eat and also my clothing. God is my parents and the people I love and love me , also my thoughts, my good and bad deeds... I am myself an expression of God and if God didn't exist neither could I.

God has always given me peace of mind and soul during my entire

life even when there has been death, sickness, accidents.. I feel like the eye

of a storm while everyone is running around panic I just tell people how to handle it calmly.

I can be a very nervous person at times, but not in an emergency.

Think back when you were calm during a scarey time.

I was molested as a very small child. Watched my maternal grandparents get drunk and punch each other bloody more times than I can count. Endured my father’s alcoholic tirades and abuses my entire life. Was an alcoholic myself by the age of 15, and drank a quart of wine or ale on my way to school every day. Eventually ended up addicted to barbiturates and finally overdosed. While I dealt drugs on my high school campus, my drug of “choice” was LSD. Dropped out of school at 17 because I was “in love” and pregnant with my first child; had my second baby by 19. Spent the next 10 glorious years getting stolen from, abused, and cheated on by my husband. My dad shot himself in the head with his shotgun in my mother’s kitchen; my “tweeker” brother hanged himself on my son’s birthday…

I WASN’T looking for Him; I WASN’T interested… I was pi$$ed to say the least… and PERFECTLY content with all kinds of sex, drugs, rock n' roll...

But I’m so grateful that Jesus made Himself real to me when He did… He wrapped Himself around me, and has taken the long hard road of LOVING me to health… If you think He’s my crutch… you’ve greatly mistaken the matter… He’s my freaking gurney!!!

You could answer it truthfully by saying that God has played an indirect role in your life by influencing so many people around you, just not you personally.

God gave each of us free will.

He sent his son to die on the Cross, so that we can go to Heaven if we believe and are baptized. Jesus Christ loved us enough to die for us, so that we can go to Heaven if we accept him as our Savior.

God plays a significant role in my life by loving such a sinner as myself enough to want me to able to live forever in Heaven. Satan loves it when we all fight. He loves it when people deny God exists. He loves it because he is doomed to Hell and wants to take as many humans as possible to the same Hell he lives in.

List half-a-dozen good things in your life:your wife, your kids, a nice home, a good job. Pretend that God has blessed you.

You might even come to realize it.

God has blessed all of us.
