    Technically the free market in Russia was introduced after the dissolution of Soviet Union in December of 1991. On January 2, 1992, Yeltsin ordered to remove communist-era price controls and adopt foreign trade, prices, and currency.

    since the breakup of the Soviet Union. Some of it is free, other aspects aren't. But it's an emerging free market and has a great future.
