There are a number of beaches that you can visit. Aruba has some of the best beaches in the Caribbean. The Hyatt is on Palm Beach which nice but is a busy crowded stretch. I would recommend taking a day trip to Eagle Beach, Araschi Beach and/or Baby Beach. Eagle Beach is a wider less crowded beach. Araschi and Baby are shallow, wide and are good for snorkeling (Baby is better than Araschi for snorkeling, but the beach is better at Araschi)

You can rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle and drive on the back side of the island. Here you will find the Natural Pool, the Natural Bridge (which has since collapse but there are other "baby" bridges there), Alto Vista Chapel and a few other sites. You can also take an excursion to these sites as well if you don't want to rent a jeep.

Downtown Oranjestad and the Palm Beach area has plenty of shopping, casinos and lots of restaurants. Some recommendations for restaurants - Madame Janette, Que Pasa, Cuba Cookin, and Nos Canucu. Amazonia is a good bet too if you like lots and lots of grilled meat!

I would certainly recommend renting a car at least for a few days out of the trip to explore everything the island has to offer. Other than that, have a great time! Aruba is a beautiful island with plenty to offer.

I have been to Aruba every year straight for 7 or 8 years. It's a very small island. Dress appropriately, it's very hot there. Also, there are a lot of beaches but be sure to stay away from the north end which has many sharks, so rumor has it. I'm going in February for winter break. It's a lot of fun, though pack at least two bottles of sun tan lotion. Hoped this helped. Oh, do snorkeling and parasailing. These are tons of fun if you are outgoing and risky. My entire family liked Wacky Wahoo, because it sells fish and the sort. Go to something Ling's to buy groceries, it has the freshest ones. Also, food is expensive because they grow nothing natively.

Source(s): my going there every year.

There are lots of water sports. You can rent jet skis, you can go on a snorkeling tour, you can go scuba diving, you can go on a submarine or a semi-sub and see the reefs up close. You can also do some land-based activities, like hiking Mt Hooiberg (on a clear day you can see across to Venezuela) or just rent a jeep and explore the island. You can also do an organized tour if you don't want to go alone.

We went to Madame Janette's, Yemanja and Passions and loved them all. Passions is on the beach - it's very nice at sunset. My coworker just got back from Aruba and she went to Screaming Eagle and Flying Fishbone. FF is far from the hotels, like a 30 minute drive, but if you're renting a car it's worth it. There are also lots of restaurants right across the street from the Hyatt.

Go snorkeling at De Palm Island! As far as restaurants, we love Amazonia! If you are looking for some place romantic you can eat on the beach under a canopy - I think its called "footprints".

Frankly since Natalie Holloway "disappeared" there

i would boycott the place forever and ever. Go to Hawaii instead, nice people, places, and scenery
