1988 Toyota Celica SX AC problems?

I have a 1988 Toyota Celica SX the AC on my car does not work, the AC button lights up but it does'nt blow cold air. I have checked nearly all the fuses and all seem fine it was gassed about 2 years ago but even then it still did not work, I checked a few relays under the hood and they are working and there is 12 v going to them, I have not checked the compressor as I am not too sure how to, if anyone has any wiring diagrams for a 1988 Toyota Celica SX engine 4s-fi or any idea of the fault could be I would really appreciate any help.

Update:

Also how do you check if there is 12v coming to the compressor as I have tried checking with a mulit meter but got no readings (no V).

WELL SEE IF YOU HAVE POWER COMING TO THE COMPRESSOR. ITS A GOOD POSSIBILITY YOU MAY HAVE LOST THE FREON. WERE DEALING WITH A 22 YEAR OLD SYSTEM. THERES ALOT OF PARTS AND SEALS THAT TEND TO SEEP OUT THE FREON OVER TIME. HAVE THE FREON LEVEL CHECKED AND GO FROM THERE.

PS. UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES THE COMPRESSOR WILL NOT ENGAGE IF THERES NOT ENOUGH GAS IN THE SYSTEM
