Last week, the Wall Street Journal reported that Emanuel, exasperated upon learning that liberal special-interest groups were planning to run ads against conservative Democrats not supportive of health care reform, blasted the plan as "f------ retarded" over the summer. Naturally, some outrage ensued after Emanuel's words came to light, with former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin taking to her Facebook page to call on President Obama to fire him for what she saw as the equivalent of a racial slur.

Palin, whose son Trig is afflicted with Down syndrome, said she was informed of Emanuel's comment by a fellow parent of a special-needs child and pleaded with the president to "show decency" to the political process by "eliminating" the Chicago native from his inner circle.

In a post titled "Are You Capable of Decency, Rahm Emanuel?," Palin wrote, "Just as we’d be appalled if any public figure of Rahm’s stature ever used the 'N-word' or other such inappropriate language, Rahm’s slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities — and the people who love them — is unacceptable," adding, "it's heartbreaking."

Ok I have to say as a Mother of a child with a developmental disability I do not consider this to be a racial slur because it was not by any means directed at anyone with a developmental disability.
I love how politicians get so easily offended and are quick to say oh you should fire that person. That is the answer to everything in Washington when push comes to shove.

Sarah Palin may understand all that is involved with a child with a developmental disability but I would bet she would be the one breaking down behind closed doors saying oh the world said this about me or he said" ******* retarded". Even though none of this was directed at anyone with a developmental disability.

Yeah lets drag religion into politics like always. That is Republicans for you using religion to their advantage.

This is why the Republicans didn't win the election because did we really want someone hovering in the corner if something happened to McCain(hoping nothing would though) and some **** really hit the fan. She is way to emotional  and easily offended.

in accordance to what I study she in my opinion didn’t cause them to pay for the try. the genuine question is, replaced into she conscious that the victims have been being made to pay for the try? i might think of in a city of 7000 human beings she knew or a minimum of could desire to have generic because of the fact the Mayor. we could desire to continually all be outraged that interior the united states any rape victims are compelled to pay for rape examinations. mean at the same time as we are spending billions on the warfare in Iraq and to help different international locations. in my opinion, I’m all in favour of lending a assisting hand yet i think of we could desire to continually start up at domicile first.
