Something similar happened to me. A bowl fell down in my grandmothers glass vase. The bowl was replaceable so I took a case knife and very very carefully chipped away at the bowl until I was able to get it out in pieces. The vase was not damaged at all. Now I'm not sure what kind of pot you have and if it can take more or less abuse than my grandmothers vase can. Just be careful about what you decide to do.

First how far into the pot did the cup go? Second what is the thickness of the pot and the cup? I like the idea of putting them into the freezer, that should work. You might try just putting the pot in hot water just high enough till it doesn't tip over. Leave it sit there for 10 minutes or so.

You would have to super heat the glasses to have them react...not wise. I suggest you get some WD-40 or cooking oil and work it in the seam with a toothpick or an eye dropper let it sit a bit and they should come apart with ease. If they are still stuck use more oil then tap ever so gently with a wooden spoon to let the oil seep in.

You could try freezing them; should break the seal holding the glass in place
