What are the laws for becoming a hair cutter in Belgium?

My friend is thinking of moving to Belgium with me but she is currently in cosmetology school in NYC. What are the regulations on becoming a hair cutter in Belgium? Licenses? Would a New York certification carry over? Is there a particular exam to take from the states or a European one to take once completed with school in the states? Or does it make the most sense to drop school there and join school here in Belgium?

Thank you!

No, I'm pretty sure that most barbershops ("coiffeurs" or "kappers") will hire anybody who knows her/his job. Knowledge of Dutch or French (depends where you go) will offcourse open a lot of doors.

    Good luck ! !
