Why is Easter not held at the same time as the "Jewish Passover"?

The original :Last Supper" held by Jesus and the disciples was the Jewish Passover supper prior to Jesus being taken prisoner by the Romans.

Update:

I have often wondered about this question. I used to be a Christian but have since changed to being a Theravadha Buddist, but I have tried looking at all religions as part of my previous work and living,

In determining the date of the Jewish Passover a lunisolar calendar is, and because Easter always falls on a Sunday it usually falls up to a week after the first day of Passover (Nisan 15 in the Hebrew calendar). However, the differences in the rules between the Hebrew and Gregorian cycles results in Passover falling about a month after Easter in three years of the 19-year cycle. These occur in years 3, 11, and 14 of the Gregorian 19-year cycle (corresponding respectively to years 19, 8, and 11 of the Jewish 19-year cycle).

The Jehovah's Witnesses do commemorate the 'Lord's Evening Meal' or 'Last Supper', and often refer to it as the 'Memorial of Christ's Death'. They celebrate it once each year, noting that it was instituted on the Passover, an annual festival. They observe it on Nisan 14 according to the ancient Jewish luni-solar calendar.

Because Easter is NOT Passover. Jesus' Passover meal PRECEDED his death and resurrection. The early Church celebrated the resurrection of Jesus EVERY Sunday, not just once a year. When it was decided to have an annual commemoration, the Sunday after Passover seemed a natural choice. (The two days are not always in the same week because of differences between the Gregorian and Jewish calendars.)

Good question. As Christians we are not required to celebrate ANY holiday for any reason. Furthermore the Bible says that we are to celebrate when and how we wish according to our faith if at all.\

    God bless you.

The Roman Church changed the celebration on purpose to distance themselves from the Jewish roots of the true Christianity.

    yes

Jesus celebrated the passover at the last supper

    because he was jewish

and passover is a Jewish and Samaritan holy day and festival

    commemorating the Hebrews'

    escape from enslavement in Egypt.

but Easter is to celebrate the belief that Jesus came back to life after he was killed

Some early Christians wanted to be a little bit different from the other Jews.
