what is the U.S. national debt?

We are in debt to people/businesses/countries that buy US treasuries. We have been in debt since the beginning of the country, but the percentage of debt to GDP is at an all time high 90%. The government is taking out more debt than ever and at current rate the debt to GDP will be at 115%--2015 projection. That is the level of debt Greece is at now.

The current debt is 13 trillion dollars. Unfunded liabilities(debt that is not currently owed, but is know to be owed in the future to Social Security and Medicare...)is 108 trillion dollars :) If the US had to use the same accounting practices as businesses, the unfunded liabilities would be counted along with the 13 trillion. $121 trillion - To pay for that everyone in the US must become a slave to the US and turn over all wealth, property and wages to the US. That would only fall short of paying off the debt by $40 trillion dollars.

1. we in are debt to those that hold the U.S Treasury Securities ( like China etc.) and when we don't pay the interest they will foreclose.

2. Since 2001. borrowed money for the war and just kept on going.

3. NONE...., congress & the Obamanation keeps on borrowing. over 13trillion now
