It's symptomatic of the disease in English football. The premier clubs have to shoulder part of the blame for the national side being $hit. The Premiership has lost touch with the common fan , lost touch with the game, lost touch with almost everything that makes football what it was and should be. It exists in a bubble, for no better reason than to make money and pay too much of it on to otherwise unemployable meatheads like Rooney.
The players are not disciplined, behave like assholes on and off the pitch, consider themselves untouchable for their excesses, and this has been condoned for over twenty years since the creation of Ffrankenstein's monster, the Premiership. We are now living with the results of this in terms of overpaid, idle useless scrotes who only appear to be in it for the money. Representing their country means less and less to them - less money in it - and we are seeing the results. Maybe you can learn from the Germans - no angels, but a damn sight readier and prouder to play for their nation than England's useless tossers are!
Oh, and this also applies to premiership players in the Welsh side.... we need another Ryan Giggs but one hasn't emerged yet.... and I do accept England still got a lot further than my Wales did. Still, football ain't our national sport, boyo...
(To use a WW2 analogy for the German game, and why not, eveyone else will: the side under Italian management was ready to surrender rght from the start, wasn't it!)

Dint see it.. Looks like I missed a lot of things.. I mean, post match action.. But y would Rooney actually do something like that?! He's a pretty decent guy!!! He wouldn't mean any such thing!!

i never saw that, did he give 2 fingers to the fans? it's ok for him, those English supporters in South Africa have paid thousands of pounds to get there, small change for him i suppose. his mrs spends that much one day shopping. he's overrated and needs a kick up the backside.
