Yellow flowering herb...?

Can anyone help me with this?

I have a herb (I think maybe sage) growing in my garden. It grows about a foot in height and has lovely almost star shaped flowers.

I think my neighbour said it was sage but I'm not sure and a local community garden is asking for herb plant donations. But I don't want to give them it if it isn't sage...

I'm sorry but I haven't got a photo.

There are hundreds of types of sage...I'm not sure there are many with yellow flowers and sage flowers tend to be shaped like miniature snap dragons, not starts.

Most sage plants smell...well...sagey. Try crushing a leaf and smelling it, it should have some sort of pungency. Also, try posting again with a desciption of the leaf.

Sage typically has ovate leaves with a point at the tip. Leaves are usually "fuzzy".

Herbs should not be allowed to flower. If the flower gets polinated & allowed to seed, the flavour is lost.
