Paris is actually a physically small city and lots of things are walkable from the location you indicate. If the weather is nice and you are in good health you can walk from the Arc de Triomphe to Notre Dame on the Ile de la Cite in an hour. Along the way you'd see the Jardin de Tuilleries, the Place de la Concorde, the Arc du Carousel, the Louvre, Chatelet, the Conciergerie, Sainte Chapelle and finally the Cathedral itself.

That's just an example to give you an idea of how easy it is and the time involved.

You might find it simpler to buy a ticket on the hop on hop off buses. The red-and-white buses of Les Cars Rouges cover only one route, which stops at nine locations in the city center. 2010 prices are €24 for a two-day adult pass with a 50 percent reduction for children. You can buy your pass on the bus or save 10 percent by ordering online.

The green-and-yellow buses of L'OpenTour cover four sightseeing routes: "Paris Grand Tour," "Bastille-Bercy," "Montmartre-Grands Boulevards," and "Montparnasse-Saint Germain." A single pass gives you access to all four routes. In 2010, a one-day adult pass will cost you €29, and a two-day pass is only three euros more at €32. Children from 4 to 11 pay less.

If you'd like to travel by water the Compagnie des Batobus operates five trimaran sightseeing boats, with eight stops along a circular route that covers both the left and right banks of the Seine. Adult fares range from €13 (one-day pass) to €20 (five days), with lower rates for children

It rather relies upon on what you think approximately "strolling distance". The Louvre and Notre Dame are incredibly close. The Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre are incredibly close. besides the incontrovertible fact that, Notre Dame or the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower could desire to take you 40 5-60 minutes, finding on how briskly you walk - longer in case you supply as much as browse at shops or for refreshments. That being pronounced, Paris is an excellent city for strolling. initiate out early, take a while, take a smash in an area cafe, and luxuriate later on. in case you get drained, you could constantly hop onto the Metro to return to your beginning component.
