who are the 3 Musicians who have sold over 100 million albums with their respective bands AND solo?
To clarify only 3 artists have sold 100 million albums as members of their bands and also sold over 100 million as solo artists . two should be easy but the third might be a bit mor difficult
what bands were Elvis and Garth Brooks in that sold over 100 million?
Pecan has one right ! (not Lennon or Clapton) two to go
sorry midnightrambler but The faces did not get close to 100 million sold
I don't know what bands Mariah Carey and Celine Dion were in that sold that many?

Phil Collins did it, solo and with Genesis.*
Paul McCartney did it, solo and with the Beatles.
*Peter Gabriel sold over 100 million solo, but Genesis reached that mark after his departure. He might be grandfathered in to make him number 3, though.
The Yardbirds never sold 100 million, so Eric Clapton is out.
Jackson 5 didn t, so Michael Jackson is out.
Garth Brooks and Elvis never had bands. Neither did Mariah Carey or Celine Dion.
John Lennon didn t reach the 100 million mark solo.
Hopefully this helps!

Both as a solo and a band.... Are there any? Maybe the ex-Beatles sold that many. Sting sold a ton but the police didn't hit that mark. Elvis and Garth did but they didn't have a group. Hmm. Michael Jackson did but I doubt the Jackson 5 did. Is Eric Claption one?
OK here is my guess:
John Lennon
Paul McCartney
Eric Clapton

You've been listening to the new Crowes album haven't you. I enjoyed portions of the Aerosmith album, but it was definitely a half assed effort, and yeah, they certainly could have nailed it back in the mid 70s. Their record deal expires at the end of the year, and word is, they'll be going strictly digital. Perhaps that will break them out of the commercial top 40 mode they've been living in and get them back to good rock albums. Oh wait.... this was a blues album question... The Stones coulda shoulda recorded one during their prime. The Crowes came damn close with Warpaint, and to be honest, I can't think of anybody else that's currently recording that would be worth a damn at pulling this thing off that hasn't already done it. It's been done only 6 times.
Michael Jackson
Bon Jovi
Rod Stewart
Mariah Carey
Beatles
Celine Dion
Your question has no answer. These are the only 6 artists, band or solo to accomplish that feat. Comprende?
That just it. You don't know. Period.

John Lennon. Paul McCartney and Rod Stewart
didn't think so either, but chose them as the harder to guess one... good to see you know who they are!
