Why this senseless waste ?

Yesterday, the Daily Mirror ran a story about the slaughter of countless millions of male baby chicks because they have no "commercial value".We are constantly reminded that the world faces a food shortage, and millions of people face starvation. Surely a way could be found to rear these birds to adulthood and used as a food source, after all, to a starving child, it is not a male or female bird, it is a meal which could mean the difference between life and death.

For years this kind of thing has happened. Thousands of perfectly good apples have been trashed to keep the price artificially high. Man worships money, end of.
