I need help with an Oscar Wilde quote?
"One's real life is often the life that one does not lead." -Oscar Wilde
I am not 100% sure of the meaning of the quote. My assignment is to describe how it applies to my life, but... I need help understanding what he is saying.

I interpret it as meaning that we so often hide our true needs and feelings that we do not accomplish what, deep down, we really want to.

properly i assume it relies upon the type you're noted. If it rather is complimentary then i think of it rather is large to be noted. If it rather is for each and all of the incorrect motives then perchance it rather is ultimate to no longer be the subject rely of communication. with the intention to the Oscar Wilde Quote i might say once you're a guy or woman completely fascinated in celebrity, then there may well be an component of reality in what he says and in all probability something is going.

I would take it to mean that for some, the things they did in their fantasies, their dreams and so on, were more real to them than the things they actually did. Kind of a melancholy thought, but I suppose it's true for most of us.

the real life is the goal you've always wanted your life to play out as. and no body gets what they want in life. because like when people don't want you to think you know them... they think their life is perfect.. they cannot always life the way they expect to. that's what i gather.
Everybody is living a life they didn't exactly want if they could only control how it went out. you can easily think of many things that your life is split in different ways....
