How will Obamacare affect someone entering the medical field?
I have a friend that will graduate this year as a physicians assistant and was wondering how Obamacare will impact her job. Will there be less pay? Will there be more patients? Or anything you can think of that will change how it is now.

No one knows. That "health care plan" that was approved last year is not written in stone. The elected officials that voted for it still aren't aware of all that was packed (hidden) in the 1000+ pages of stuff. Also, keep in mind, the majority of people in the US are not happy with a plan that excludes the elected officials that voted for it from being forced to have it. The elections last November showed that!

Whatever happens, all those in the Medical field need to strive to go as far as they can with an education so it gives them all the opportunities possible when things finally are decided.
As things transition anyway as the USA makes changes, many new positions will be opened and created that many different skill sets will be needed, the more varied ones education is the better for them. She has many opportunities. There will be a large group of patients no matter what happens, there will be more work for all of us in Medicine than people to do it.She just has to choose where to focus her talents, location is a consideration as is specialty.
