What is the Hunger Games plotline?

It is about north america in the future, which is a country that enslaves "districts" to create different items for the main city, the Capital. To keep the non-Capital citizens in line, every year two children (boy and girl) are drawn to go into the hunger games where all 12 district's kids fight till the last one is let alive. The story revolves around katniss from district 12 and her struggle during the hunger games to stay alive and trying to keep her family alive at the same time. It is a fantastic series, very futuristic, but not in a star wars kinda way. If u like percy jackson's or harry potter's, you'll like 'em. kinda violent tho but it isnt desciptive violence just apparent alot. hope this helps ps i reccomend u read them b4 the movie in 2013.

I've heard alot about the books Hunger Games and following but I don't know what the plot is. Can someone give me a descriptive plot and not ruin the complete story? I don't mind a few spoilers just not the end results of the book.

In what used to be North America, lies a shining new nation called Panem. With it's shining Capitol and perfect disposure, this dystopian world seems to have no flaws. But yet, there used to be 13 Districts. One year, the Districts decided to rebel. All 12 were defeated, while the 13th District got blown up, therefore leaving only 12 Districts. Now, each year, in order for the Capitol to show the citizens their power, they make a girl Tribute and a boy Tribute get randomly chosen by lottery to participate in the annual Hunger Games. In the Hunger Games, the kids are forced to fight until death on live t.v. Whoever is the last standing is the winner. You must kill all the other players. When Primrose Everdeen is chosen to participate, her older sister Katniss Everdeen, volunteers to take her place, and the games begin....

It's a great book! The book is set in the future and shows how the world has developed. There are 12 districts and from each district one girl and one boy between the ages of 12-18 are randomly selected to take part in the hunger games, a fight to the death. It follows a girl named Katniss who thinks she knows what there is to know, but slowly unravels the truth.

Groups of minors must fight each other to the death. It's something similar to "The Long Walk" by Richard Bachman, aka. Stephen King.
