Do people honestly still believe that AIDS is a "gay only disease"...?

Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe and Thabo Mbeki of South Africa have shown that ignorance, so far as AIDS is concerned, is not only a matter of individual persons, but, in some very sad instances, actual government policy.

Yes heterosexuals do contract and spread AIDS. No one knows for certain the origin of the AIDS virus. The latest theory is that is was produced when immunosupressed chimps, which harbored a variety of viruses, were used in the lab to make a vaccine for hepatitis B. This vaccine was then first used to prevent this disease in central Africa (in both men and women blacks) and among the gay community in New York city. This coincided with the first cases of AIDS to appear. Both events took place in the early to mid 1970's. There is still controversy about this among the scientific community. So the possibility exists that it may never had been a "gay disease" to begin with.

Well... strictly speaking MSM is the cause of 47% of HIV transfers in America. But that still leaves 53% for heterosexuals and females
