Are my rights being violated as a worker?

I am a Loss Prevention proffessional for a major retailer. Because I work for this retailer, the retailer is always the prosecutor. Recently the police department has required that all reports from Loss Prevention personnel must be reported under our own names and addresses. This is an unusual and frankly disturbing practice. Does anyone know of feel as though this is a violation of my rights as a worker? I cant help but feel as though this department is putting myself and family at risk because it is something they feel is the right way to do things. Remember, I work for the retailer, I am not the one filing the charges, the retailer is.

Update:

In response to the first answer, any and all evidence would be the video footage, do you not think I have rights as an employee? My records are confidential and not for anyone to see accept my employer and police if I WERE TO COMMIT THE CRIME.

No your rights are not being violated, the Police are investigating a crime.

If the retailer you work for is filing charges against a person for the theft, the Police Department has every right to collect *any and all* evidence relating to that crime. That includes knowing who the person is within the company that is making the claim of theft.
