What would Jesus Cut from the Budget?
Is a budget and how we decide to allocate our limited resources not a moral undertaking?

His father said he who does not work neither shall they eat. I think Jesus would make all the cuts from the military because we are supposed to trust that God will provide for our security like the birds of the air or the Lilly's of the field.

He'd tax the churches and call them businesses, not places of worship.
He'd raise the taxes on the rich, and use that money to care for the ill and infirm.
He'd then fire large chunks of administrative positions that do nothing but cost money and return nothing to society.
Somehow I don't think many of the people crying about socialism would appreciate a government run by Jesus.

There is way too much emphasis placed on the moralism of the US budget and that's what has ruined the nation. Government ought to function with limits on it that prevent the creation of the welfare and entitlement state we are now saddled with.

Jesus would leave Caesar's what belongs to him. I would have added a mustard seed of good will, but then I an not Jesus.

He would not be involved. He was apolitical.
Politics is a worldly endeavor that cannot overcome greed, hate, and personal ideology.
Cuts must be made and we would be wise to remove Government from the charity business, be it corporate or personal.

He wouldn't worry about being voted out of office for cutting things the people want. So I guess he would concentrate on cutting the fat out of defense.

The Pentagon. Thou Shall Not Kill. Jesus didn't write that but his dad did.

Jesus would cut defense spending
This is why Founding Fathers insisted on separation of church and state

He sure wouldn't have 50 agencies for teaching economics. He'd probably do away with affirmative action, since God helps those who help themselves.

Defense.
Presto, economic woes resolved! Well, for our remaining two days as a country anyway.
