Why has Great Britain not recognised the National Transitional Council as the legal government of Libya?
France, Italy, Qatar, Kuwait and the Gambia have recognised the TNC as the legal government of Libya. Britain joined France in calling for other EU nations to reocgnise them as the legitimate government.
Why have they not yet done so themselves?

the British government are keen to be last on the wagon as they can already see that the "war" is lost in terms of achieving any sort of outcome that could be trumpeted as a success either for Libya or for the UK. The main protagonists in the UK government have effectively committed political suicide in the eagerness to kiss the US butt. The UK public are furious at the expenditure on a foolish war while our citizens are impoverished at home. Cameron and Hague are so nervous now that they are paralyzed by their own incompetence.
