why cant i play the movies on my flash drive on my tv?
all the music and music videos play but the movies dont even appear in the menu

What you save in your flash drive are files, and in order to play those files, you need a media player, so this means that the TV is equip with a media software that allows you to view pictures and listen to music, but is not able to play movies format.

Your TV may not support that file type
