Who is paying for the damages of the SATELLITE going down these days?

Hey guys,

as there is currently the UARS satellite going down on the earth, there is a chance of 1:3200 of parts hitting a human being. I always read that it is property of the US. Thus, if it hits your house, do the US have to pay for the damage?

My neighbors cousin sold NASA an insurance policy on that bird, so I guess he'll have to pay.

It probably depends on whose house it hits. If it hits in some reasonable country, odds are pretty good that the US will pay for any damages. If it happens to land on Adnan Gulshair el Shukrijumah's hut, as we're all hoping it does, there wont be any compensation coming from the US.
