Single pair of homologous chromosomes...?

My professor wants me to draw a single pair of homologous chromosomes after interphase BUT before crossover occurs. For the life of me I can't figure out what to draw b/c I've tried searching my textbook and google and I'm not catching onto the concept very well. He also wants me to label 3 loci, but I think I can do that. Just can someone please give me a correct picture or a detailed description to help me?

Thanks in advance,
