How is Food Served in US?

I know that the main diet of most Americans are potatoes and corns, but what I would like to know it how are they served (for example, the potatoes being used for mashed potatoes), and with other food like beans and meats how would it usually be served?

Coming from a new yorker - a daily meal usually consists of some sort of vegetable ( mashed, roasted potatoes, French dries, broccoli, carrots, corn, or stringbeans. A starch like bread or rice or whatnot and meat such as barbacue, hamburger, steak, chicken cutlet. Etc

    Mmmmm potatoes and corns.....

You may be confusing the largest food crops with the things people eat the most.

Americans eat just about all of the foods people eat in other countries, prepared in just about every way you might be able to imagine.

Here's a link to a website that many people in America use as a resource when they think about cooking their meals.
