USA Teens Do you think that...?

Do you think that Japan deserved the bombing the USA gave them after Pearl Harbor? Why or why not.

Update:

@BC Travis I was meaning ALL the bombings not just the atomic bomb and not just the bombing of there cities all of them...

Update 2:

@ Bri Webb It's nice that your not into history and "all that" but Pearl Harbor (and any other war) is a VERY big deal to ANY TRUE American... Either you shouldn't have answered or you shouldn't have put such a stupid answer.

Update 3:

@ Bri Webb nope no homework for me.... I may only be 16 but I am starting college in January so.... yeah... and I spelt True American correctly thanks!

The issue wasn't whether or not Japan deserved the bombing. It wasn't at all an act of revenge. The issue was, "How the hell do we end a war this war (WWII) in the Pacific?" The debate today argues if the atomic bombs were really necessary to make Japan surrender. Could we have held out and found some other method? I personally don't really know. The bomb was a quick way to end the war though a lot of innocents died. However, there are arguments that the bombs had resulted in less deaths than a full scale invasion of Japan would have. Although it was at the price of a lot of innocent people, surrender was immediate afterwards and the war ended. I wouldn't like to imagine WWII continuing any longer, so I would probably say the USA was justified.

Do you mean the atomic bombs? Or the bombing in general of all their cities? The attack on Pearl Harbor was the first and best of many Japanese attacks. They were ready to fight to the last man woman and child. At the time most Japanese would give their life for their emperor. To them he was a god. The U.S. forces were facing having to lose thousands of men on an invasion of Japan. After four years of one of the bloodiest wars in history most people wanted it ended as fast as possible, and with the fewest American lives lost. So my answer is yes.

Technically America deserved the Pearl Harbor incident because we forced trade ports open in Japan when they didn't want to. But no lives were lost in doing so, the Japanese attack on the harbor was a drastic move and could have been avoided had the Japanese wanted retaliation so much and America was more willing to talk despite the war in Europe..

I think, it was one of the fastest options at the time. It was clear that the Japanese weren't going to accept a surrender at that point of time. I do not condone the actions, but I do believe it was a quick way to put the war to a halt. If you want to ask me what I think about the bombings, I don't agree with it. It's inhumane, cruel, and humanity should best avoid Nuclear bombs... That is just my 2cents, :D.

yes the japanese army was brutal and they would do cruel things like blow up medics with grenades and rape people. but the bombings to lower moral, end the war, take out crucial targets, and i guess get payback for pearl harbor

I personally think all wars are stupid.

I don't care. I'm not into history and all that. Edit - LOL, i know tons of people who don't really give a f**k. Definitely not a big deal to me. You're probably just trying to get someone to answer your homework questions for you anyway, lol. Oh, BTW - Learn how to spell, "true American".
