If I wire two woofers together will that double the wattage?

I have two 4 ohm 12" kicker woofers that I plan on wiring to 2 ohms. The RMS for each woofer is 150 watts and peak 300 watts. If I wire these together at 2 ohms will my total RMS now be 300 watts and peak 600 watts?

If that is correct would I need an amp that has an RMS of 300 watts at 2 ohms?
