How does one ram their non belief in something down another person's throat, exactly?

EDIT: yes, the bible bashers complaining about the atheist billboards is one of the most hypocritical things they've ever said, when our country is positively plastered with stupid images of crosses, the jesus dude, stupid manger scenes, and the millions of churches and their outreach organizations.

Actually, most "atheist" billboards do not remain un-vandalized for very long as soon as they're put up, it doesn't take long for self-righteous religious criminals to eagerly destroy private property, because ideas that conflict with religious fantasies must be destroyed.

I do see how believers would become so hyperbolically hyper-reactive when they see or catch a glimpse of a contradictory message that they tend to perceive as "threatening" to their core beliefs.

I've come to the conclusion that religious ideas are essentially weak, hence the over-compensation reaction by most believers to any contradiction of their "personal beliefs".

Whenever a believer says they hold "strong faith or beliefs", I believe that they do, because herein lies the trick, religious belief is inherently weak, but strong, emotional human convictions over-amplify these weak ideas and as such, are the only thing preventing a believer from rejecting an inherently weak religious idea or narrative.

Once we realize these not so obvious components of religious belief, I think it may do us well to wage a smarter offensive vice banging our collective heads against ideological religious battles which we know are difficult to win no matter how much logic we employ within our arguments.

All you have to do is state your opinion and if it differs, the "believer" takes offense and has a hallucination that you are ramming something down their throat. In the end, it has the same result and then we all go to hell. :(

Same way that you assume Christians do. In fact I would suggest most Christians do not go around insulting you and saying stupid things like all religions should be banned (atheist quote). The question you should be asking yourselves is if you are treating others like you would want to be treated. If insulting their beliefs constantly is what you want, then why are you complaining. I would have more sympathy for other atheists, but I have seen your posts and you ahve absolutely nothing to whine about.

Seriously, no atheists countries (China, Russia) has legalized gay marraige, only Christian countries have. I'm all for gay marraige and do not agree with the banning it, but you atheists using it against Christians as them oppressing you and the "good atheists" standing against that oppression is fully stupid.

While I do not want ID taught in school, if idiots like Dawkins would not go around saying evolution disproves god, you likely would not have the problem in the first place. Further, if your beliefs are so frail that 5 minutes of intelligent design being taught completely changes your mind, then I agree, that it should be taught. I would absolutely hate to think our kids are going to grow up with such frail beliefs.

Guess what I don't believe in Hinduism, and yet can find no instance wher eI felt the need to insult their religion. But I do agree with Ross, you all our not shoving your faith (and atheism is a faith) down my throat, but neither are the Christians doing that to you. I came to my belief from logical deduction, but if you were to ask me the red pill blue pill choice you propose, I would take the blue pill. Why? Cause unlike Neo I am getting no special powers from being an atheist. When I was an atheist, I had less joy in my life and no more intellect, wisdom, or anything else.
