What is the "overwhelming scientific evidence" that a god exists?

Every time someone says, "Just look around!" I want to jab a rusty knife into their gut.

Is that wrong?

To begin, a statement like that appeals to ignorance or supposition by using false equivalencies to make a fantasy meme seem relevant in a sensory dependent human environment.

It's akin to assuming that everyone can see pink elephants because if you're drunk and you assume everybody needs or must be drunk like the utterer of such gibberish.

It's not at all too extreme to juxtapose this attitude of drunkenness, to that of a religious absolutist who assumes that everyone must be forced to see the believer's invisible friend and if they refuse, beat them or bludgeon them into submission until they relent and surrender to the lunacy of religious correctness coupled with blind obedience to religious control freaks intolerant, oppressive malfeasance.

I think what they mean is that science is really hard. Overwhelming, really. It's much easier to just slam the book shut and say "goddidit" and be done with it.

There is none. The best they can do is mention some natural thing they don't understand and say "god did it". It's the argument from ignorance fallacy.

There's no such thing and I don't think it's going to be. If god's existence can be proved with overwhelming evidence, then faith is worth nothing.

There is no scientific evidence of God because science deals only with the natural world. Science cannot tell us about the supernatural.
