can i mix the baby oatmeal cereal with yogurt instead of formula?

shes 7.5 months. she likes yogurt. seems easier to just put her cerean in her yogurt? i got organic stonyfield 'yo baby' yogurt for her. should i still put formula in the cereal with the yogurt or can i not?

Update:

she loooooves the cereal! and she doesnt have any teeth yet: should i still try foods like pasta or crackers? im scared to death of her choking!

My only concern is that it may turn fairly thick in consistency. Other than that, I don't think it would be much of a problem at all.

Babies should not have yogurt or other dairy products until they are closer to 12 months old. I'd just keep mixing it with the formula or even juice or fruit. No you should not try pasta or crackers at only 7 months old. Keep her on purees for a bit longer. Some things like Zweiback baby toast and Gerber Teething Buscuits would be okay because they melt in the mouth.

nicely i ask your self how human beings have been given on before toddler cereals have been invented? They used the grownup stuff - or got here across iron from different sources. Your toddler does not want specially toddler cereals, yet attempt to improve different iron-prosperous ingredients. you already know approximately purple meats and cereals (and Cheerios are great for iron - so is weetabix), in line with danger improve the leafy green veg if she'll consume it? in case you combination it with something sweeter it rather is greater beautiful to her. As you're saying, she is in basic terms in basic terms below everyday tiers, so it rather is not a extensive situation. Is she an particularly sleepy toddler? Very faded? If no longer, then she's getting via advantageous devoid of the further iron.

    You can do whatever works.

But really, she doesn't need to be eating cereal at all. If you need to mix it with yogurt for her to eat it, why not just skip the cereal? She can have yogurt 'as is', and for grains you can offer toast or crackers or pasta. (If she can't quite manage them yet, she should be able to in a few weeks.)

EDIT: If she loves cereal, then offer it 'as is.' (If she loves it mixed with milk or yogurt, then presumably what she 'loves in the milk or yogurt.

And she doesn't need teeth for solids. She can chew crackers and pasta with her gums, and she won't choke.

I did this With my daughter and never had any problems the oatmeal filled her while the yogurt gave it a better less bland taste. I plan to do this with my next too.
