Why do i end up with men that are bad for me/ controlling, addictive etc?
My current bf and ex have similarities but between the 2 i did a lot of reading and made lists of what i want in a man.They are both controlling, self centered, uneducated, have had hard childhoods, have addicted personalies and so forth but on the flip side give me all of their time & attention etc which i cherish.
I come from a middle class family that im close too and im the oldest

I was previously in an abusive and controlling relationship with someone who matched those characteristics and you learn that people will only treat you how you allow them to. That means if you are not happy with the way they treat you, voice that is HAS to change or you're out, and stick with it. There are guys out there who will give you their time, love, and attention WITHOUT the controlling and addictive aspects (which often stem from rough childhoods)- you just have to act and believe you deserve them and they will find you :).
