They are very cute. I wouldn't know what to call one but I don't think "Rover" "Rex" or "Devil" would be appropriate. I did know someone who named their dog "Devil" but he was actually a lovely natured dog, even though he didn't really look like he was.

I really think you should get a Golden Retriever. They're great with kids, VERY playful, sweet, they have soft fur, and very smart. When you get a puppy, it takes a while for the dog to mature. At first they jump and bite, so beware. As they get older they really are amazing pets. Hope that helped!
