Would I lose weight or gain more muscle doing this?

I want to lose weight and not become more muscular. I previously asked a question saying how to slim calves and inner thighs and someone answered: cycling for 1 hour a day for at least 9 weeks and then I asked another question whether that would help me lose weight all over the body so some said that I will lose the weight and some said I'll be getting more muscles.

I'm confused.....

    You'll burn calories doing the workout, thus losing FAT (not weight) because you'll be putting on muscle as you do so which could technically make you heavier.
