This is easy.
1st I would work in 9.2-7, add a .0 to 7 (this wont change the number) and put 9.2 over 7.0.
9.2
7.0-
Then go from right to left. The answer will be 2.2.
Next do 2.2-6.3. Try it on your own. Remember it will turn out to be a negative.

You are supposed to "add up" three values:
+ 9.2
- 7.0
- 6.3
............ "add up" those with (-) sign separately
+ 9.2
- 7.0 - 6.3
.......
+ 9.2
- 13.3
............ "subtract the smaller value from the larger value and keep the sign of the larger value
+ 9.2 - 13.3 = - 4.1
Your answer is
-4.1
........
In simple words ..... if + is East, and - is West
You start from 0, go East 9.2 meters, then go West 7 meters, then go West 6.3 meters.
How far and on which side are you from point 0?
You are 4.1 meters in West.
means -4.1
thats your answer
