One is a 4-core, the other is 8-core.
If you are after raw performance go with Intel, AMD might make cheaper products but that's because they compare with equivalently priced Intel processors. Even that 8-core AMD is outperformed by the best i5 CPU and they don't even make anything to compete with the current i7 CPUs.
I don't recommend anyone buy anything AMD

Before the AMD fanboys start... see for yourself.

AMD Phenom II X4 : http://www.amazon.com/AMD-HDZ965FBGMBOX-Edition-Qu...
AMD FX-8150 8-Core Black Edition : http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FX-8150-Edition-Processo...
I would suggest the AMD FX-8150 8-Core Black Edition given that it is only $25 more. With that one you can run process with a multicore processor and would overall run things better and you can make it more the way you want it to be.
More options is always better right?
Good luck on getting a good processor for your computer. I'm kind of thinking about buying that processor myself.

If you referring to an intel processor there is a huge difference. When it comes down to processors stick with intel, AMD's are garbage. Everyone that has an AMD defends them because they think they have top notch quality. I challenge you to buy an AMD processor then buy an intel and compare. You will think very differently of AMD.
